Little adventures.
Big beginnings.
Welcome to Little Caterpillars, a warm and colourful day nursery in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. We create happy days filled with play, stories, messy hands, fresh air, friendships and plenty of chances to discover something new.

Warm & Caring
Comfort, kindness and familiar faces help children feel secure from the start.
Play-Led Days
Creative, sensory and imaginative experiences built around children’s interests.
Fresh Air & Fun
Outdoor play, movement and nature are an important part of our everyday rhythm.
Every Child Matters
We celebrate individual personalities, abilities, cultures and ways of learning.
A happy place to grow
The early years should feel full of wonder, not pressure.
At Little Caterpillars, children are given time and space to explore at their own pace. Our days balance familiar routines with plenty of freedom to choose, investigate, build, paint, sing, move, imagine and play.
We know that leaving your child with somebody else is a big step. That is why building a trusting relationship with families matters just as much as planning activities. We want you to feel informed, listened to and genuinely welcome.
- Child-centred care and play
- Support for confidence, communication and independence
- Indoor and outdoor experiences
- Friendly partnership with parents and carers

Days made for curious minds
Our activities are varied, flexible and designed to help children learn through the thing they do best: play.
Create
Painting, sticking, drawing, making and wonderfully messy ideas.
Discover
Blocks, puzzles, sensory play, sorting, problem solving and experimenting.
Imagine
Stories, songs, role play, dressing up and worlds made from pure imagination.
Move
Outdoor play, dancing, climbing and activities that build physical confidence.
Working together with families
Children settle and thrive best when the adults around them work as a team. We take time to learn about your child’s routines, interests, comforters, favourite things and anything that helps them feel understood.
We keep communication friendly and clear, and we encourage parents and carers to share changes at home, questions or concerns with us. No question is too small when it comes to your child.
